First Day at MVP Summit 2026

First full day at MVP Summit 2026 on the Microsoft Campus in Redmond

Intro

Today was the first full day of MVP Summit 2026, and what a day it was. From the keynote on the Microsoft Campus to a dinner with the Windows and Devices team — it was packed, productive, and a lot of fun.

Keynote at Building 33

The day started early. We took an Uber to Building 33 on the Microsoft Campus, which is where the main keynote was held. Before we could get into the main hall, we first had to pick up our wristband. Without it, you would end up in one of the overflow rooms where you could follow the keynote virtually — which is fine, but obviously not the same as being there in person.

Once we had our wristbands sorted, we grabbed some breakfast and something to drink before joining the queue. The queue moved well and before long we were inside the keynote room.

As for the content: let’s just say there was a lot of NDA. And then some more NDA. I cannot share specifics at this point, but it was genuinely interesting stuff and worth getting up early for.

Sessions at Building 3

After the keynote we jumped on one of the Microsoft shuttle buses and headed over to Building 3, where we spent the rest of the day in back-to-back sessions. More interesting information, more interaction with the product groups — and yes, all of it NDA.

What I can say is that the level of detail and openness in these sessions is one of the things that makes MVP Summit so valuable. You get direct access to the people building the products, and those conversations are hard to replicate anywhere else.

Microsoft Store

In the afternoon we took a walk over to the Microsoft Store on campus. It is always worth a visit, and this time was no different.

I already own a Microsoft Surface Keyboard, but I liked it enough to pick up a second one. I also grabbed a Copilot magnet — a small but fun addition to the collection on the fridge at home.

Windows and Devices Security Dinner at Cafe 31

To wrap up the day, we took an Uber to Building 31 for the Windows and Devices Security Dinner at Cafe 31. Great food, great drinks, and good conversations with people from different backgrounds and organisations.

It is one of those evenings where you end up talking to people you would not normally cross paths with, and those conversations are often some of the most interesting ones.

End of Day One

By the time we got back to the hotel it was already late, but in a good way. Day one of MVP Summit 2026 delivered on every front. Looking forward to seeing what tomorrow brings.
